Blanchard, Chaput, Hughes and Vojta returned to junior clubs

RALEIGH, NC-Jim Rutherford, President and General Manager for the 2006 Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has returned forwards Nicolas Blanchard (Chicoutimi, QMJHL), Stefan Chaput (Lewiston, QMJHL) and Bobby Hughes (Kingston, OHL), and defenseman Jakub Vojta (Ottawa, OHL), to their respective teams.

The Hurricanes will play their first of five exhibition games on Friday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. at the RBC Center against the Nashville Predators. On Saturday, Sept. 23, the team will practice at the RBC Center at 9 a.m. before departing for a Saturday night game at Nashville's Gaylord Entertainment Center. On Sunday, the Hurricanes will take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at Columbus' Nationwide Arena to wrap up the weekend.



The Carolina Hurricanes will open the 2006-07 season at the RBC Center on Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. against the Buffalo Sabres.
