Tampa Bay Lightning center Vincent Lecavalier has been named to his fourth career NHL All-Star Game the National Hockey League has announced. Lecavalier leads the Lightning in goals with 16, power-play goals with five, game-winning goals with four and shots on goal with 144. He served as the captain of the Eastern Conference team at the 2008 NHL All-Star Game in Atlanta and also appeared in the 2007 and 2003 games. |

 ARLINGTON, Va. – Washington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom is one of 20 NHL YoungStars invited to the 2009 NHL All-Star Weekend, the NHL announced today. Backstrom will join nine other Eastern Conference YoungStars to compete in a wide-open game of three-on-three in the NHL YoungStars Game presented by Upper Deck, Saturday, Jan. 24 at Montreal’s Bell Centre. |

The Kennesaw Junior Thrashers squirts continue to perform well on their way to the National Silver Sticks Tournament in mid January. This time the team was in Florida over the holidays and they produced another remarkable performance going 6-0 and winning the 9th annual Florida International Hockey Tournament. |
