Forward to Represent Thrashers at NHL All-Star Weekend in Montreal January 24-25

Atlanta Thrashers forward Bryan Little has been selected to play in the NHL YoungStars Game, which will take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal on Jan. 24, as a part of the NHL All-Star Weekend festivities.

ARLINGTON, Va. – Washington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom is one of 20 NHL YoungStars invited to the 2009 NHL All-Star Weekend, the NHL announced today. Backstrom will join nine other Eastern Conference YoungStars to compete in a wide-open game of three-on-three in the NHL YoungStars Game presented by Upper Deck, Saturday, Jan. 24 at Montreal’s Bell Centre.

Tha Florida Panthers rookie forward Micahel Frolik and Tampa Bay Lightning rookie center Steven Stamkos hav been selected to participate in the 2009 NHL YoungStars Game presented by Upper Deck on Saturday, January 24 during NHL All-Star Weekend at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
 

Sooners host pair of games against No. 2 Lindenwood and Sunday matinee against improving Arizona State

BACK IN BUSINESS – After a few weeks off, the University of Oklahoma® hockey club (17-4-2) resumes play this weekend with three games in three days. No. 2 Lindenwood (21-2-1) comes to OKC to face the Sooners for games on Friday at 7:30 P.M. and Saturday at 6:30 P.M. at the Blazers Ice Centre.

St. Louis rolls off four wins to open second half

Fresh off of the Christmas break, the St. Louis Bandits showed no signs of a holiday hangover on their way to four wins in five games last week to open the second half of the season.

The Kennesaw Junior Thrashers squirts continue to perform well on their way to the National Silver Sticks Tournament in mid January. This time the team was in Florida over the holidays and they produced another remarkable performance going 6-0 and winning the 9th annual Florida International Hockey Tournament.
