The Total Package Hockey (TPH) Thunder Girls Pee Wee U12 girls team, based in the Southeastern US, skated away with the Girls Silver Stick Pee Wee Division B Championship in Sarnia, Ontario this past weekend in their first year of competition. A huge accomplishment by any standard of measure!
The Thunder Girls home rinks are Southern Ice Arena in Franklin, Tennessee, Huntsville Municipal rink and the Marietta Ice Center in Atlanta. There are two Thunder Girls teams: U12 and U16. There are currently over 40 girls in Nashville, Huntsville and Atlanta who are playing for the TPH program.

The Thunder captured the Opening Ceremony feature game against the home town Sarnia, Ontario team, then beat two other Canadian teams in the preliminary round to reach the semifinals.

They faced the Canton Michigan Crush in the semifinals, who is the No. 1 ranked "Tier 2" U12 team in the United States (according to ), and beat them 2-1 in a 4-overtime game.

They were then matched up again with the hometown Sarnia girls team in the championship game, skating to a thrilling 1-0 victory by scoring with 1:18 left in the game. It's the kind of story that movies are made of.
